Beer bread

500g self raising flour
330ml beer
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil



Set the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (or 180 degrees if using a fan oven)

Add all the ingredients to a bowl. Mix with the hands until it becomes a elastic ball.

Turn out onto a floured board or work surface. Break into two lumps. Knead and form into a ball.

Place greaseproof paper on a baking sheet and place the two balls of dough on top of the baking sheet. Slash the top of each dough ball 3 or 4 times.

Spray with water. Bake for about an hour or until a nice crust forms.
